Score at the Auto Parts Store
Long story short. Im at the parts store buying parts for my 71 K20 project when the guy behind the counter says he has an 81K10 that i might be interested in. When i ask how much he says that his nephew left it there 2 years ago and if i haul it away its free! So with the price settled on i hooked up my trailer and sealed the deal. Turns out it is an 81 GMC K10 with a 305. He has the abandoned vehicle paperwork from the state patrol by the way. What i need is pictures of under the hood and sides, front and rear. Any help would be appreciated. im trying to post pics but am having problems with the site so bear with me.

Re: Score at the Auto Parts Store
the moron who had this truck prior to me had bolted on just about every part from every year of both chevy and gmc! so any pics would be appreciated. by the way the vin does indicate 81.

Re: Score at the Auto Parts Store
I think you need to run the vin to determine the year. I can't see enough detail to determine what year the truck is, but there are several things that indicate it's 80 or older.
Your PO may very well have bolted on what ever parts were around, but the side trim and bumper are 73-80 specific. The headlamp bezels, park lights, filler panel and external gas cap along with the hood indicate it to be 75-76.

Re: Score at the Auto Parts Store
looks like both trucks need alot of work but are salvagable.
Im going to change the title of the thread and eliminate some remarks. Id like to see this thread remain about trucks or it can and will be closed.
