What engine options in 64 c10
Wanting to know what engine options were available from factory for 64 c10 ?
My 230 is sad and I could possibly get a SB cheaper than rebuilding the 6 but not sure if the 64 came with a v8 option. This is the crap we got to go thru to teg rego here in Oz |

Re: What engine options in 64 c10
in 64 you could get the 230,250,292 6 cylinders.
v8's were283, and the 327. big trucks also could get a 348 and 409. I have heard of dealer installed RPO'ed 348/409's in the smaller trucks, but have seen no documentation. your best bet for oz is a 64 283 block, then punch it out and hop it up!!

Re: What engine options in 64 c10
In light trucks, the 230 and 292 sixes and the 283 V-8. Any SB will bolt up to the 230 bellhousing and mounts, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few Holden V-8s got swapped into these trucks also.

Re: What engine options in 64 c10
The only V8 available in the C10 trucks in 1964 was a 283. The 327 was available in '66 in the C10 Series trucks and the C20, C30 & K20 trucks in the earlier years.
