Went to the drive in tonight (PICS)
My wife and I have had the whole week off and we have just been takin it easy around the house. We havent been to the drive in since my 68 Impala was still together when we were younger, so it was nice to go again in a nice classic like my truck. Just thought I'd share some pics
Sitting in line at the gate Found a good spot in the middle My new clear parking lenses Chairs in the back ready

Sharp looking truck.
Good for you for taking some time off to relax and enjoy life. We had a couple of drive-ins around here whe I was a kid, trouble is I never got a chance to go to either one. Now, one's a shopping center and one's an office building. |

Re: Went to the drive in tonight (PICS)
You have a great looking truck.
I used one of your pictures for my desktop and saved some of the rest for future viewing. I have a '71 and really debating which way to go with the restoration, but your pictures give me so great ideas. I like the stance of your truck and the wheels. Danny

Re: Went to the drive in tonight (PICS)
Thanks all. We saw Shrek Forever After, it was pretty funny.
Truck is lowered 4.5 in the front and 5.5 in the rear. Future mods coming up are some wider tires in the back and new exhaust.

Re: Went to the drive in tonight (PICS)
I'm glad that the drive in is able to stay open. They were sayin before the movie that when all the projectors go to digital they wont be able to afford to upgrade. sucks.

Just a question for ya....
Was the sound piped thru your radio or was it on one of those speaker poles? Brings back some great memories growing up. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Went to the drive in tonight (PICS)
Great memories for me.
I'm showing my age here but I grew up when drive inn theaters were in their prime. Most of the time they were the sole source of entertainment for us country boys back in the 50's and 60's. Lots of good memories. |

Re: Went to the drive in tonight (PICS)
Here's help finding a drive in
http://www.driveinmovie.com/mainmenu.htm Hope there's one near you.If you've never been don't put it off they may all be gone soon with the cost of digitalization and the advent of projection size Plasma or LCD screens.

Re: Went to the drive in tonight (PICS)
There use be one north of Sikeston, Missouri we use to go to when I was a teenager.
I don't know when it closed because it was still open when I left for the military in 1964. When we lived in the San Fransico Bay Area in the 70's we went to a few in that area, can't remember when they closed though. When we were raising a family it was a cheap way to take the kids to the movies and if they got tired they could go to sleep, then we had a station wagon. Danny

Re: Went to the drive in tonight (PICS)
Nice truck, cool pics. We have alot of drive-ins around here, But I don't go to any of them, because I would fall asleep before the first movie was over.
