What is wrong here?!?!
Was checking over my new 68 and I found an issue that has to be fixed immediately! You see it? How can I fix this? Anyone have any part numbers? Of course I am talking about the Upper Radiator hose! I assume the PO installed the incorrect upper hose.
Thanks guys! CHRIS

Re: What is wrong here?!?!
looks ok to me besides for that gash! I tried goin the same way and installing an all rubber hose like that and i figured id have the same sort of "problem" you have so i just stuck with the steel one i have that actually bends around the alternator.
Id try looking into one of those Matt

Re: What is wrong here?!?!
Those metal "hoses" were found mostly on 4x4 models IIRC.
Mine had one, but it rotted away in places. Would LOVE to get another one on, so if anyone has a good one they'd part with then hit me up!

Re: What is wrong here?!?!
Metal extensions were on 4X4's. Every 2 WD upper hose I've bought were too long and I had to trim about two inches off to keep it from pinching a kink in. Maybe he took too much off when he trimed it.

Re: What is wrong here?!?!
BTW Big O. I got a brand new set of 3.42 gears that came with my truck I think you need! They are Motive Gears 12 bolt truck gears. Let me know if you or anyone that you know might want them! I am either sticking with my 4.11 or going 3.73 . I am going with a 700R4 so I wanna keep a little gear in there!

Re: What is wrong here?!?!
i'd just get an old piece of hose, cut it and clamp it over the good hose so it sits on the alternator.
Then the "old piece of hose" can get the gash in it. LOL It's the poor man's way but it'll last for years.

Dangit! I AM at work! lmao Waiting on another Ford to break at the moment! hahah I think I got the tank for around a hundred dolla bill. I think price was 130 or something and I used a 30 dollar off coupon code on their site....Then the next day I got the sending unit, straps etc etc and used another coupon to save some money. Also all free shipping. Not bad I guess. All brand new too! I dont know what to do with myself! Also Big O... I am gonna need a set of 5 lug rallys pretty soon! Getting ready to drop it, disc brake it and convert it! If you know where I can find a set of 7s and 8s that would be killer! I know you KNOW..... lata CHRIS

Re: What is wrong here?!?!
have never had a problem just walking into NAPA or CARQUEST and getting the right hose for a 71 chevy with a 350ci motor, might take a day or two from the regional wharehouse but lots o times right in store stock too
