1976 was when they switched to the partial removable top. The gears are probably either 3.07 or 3.73. I'm not sure if 4-11's were available in the Blazer.

205or 208, look under truck and see if the T case is aluminum or cast iron.

If original, the transmission is a TH350, and the transfer case is a NP203 full time unit. Does the t-case shift pattern have Hi, Hi-Loc, N, Lo, Lo-Loc positions? If so, then it is a 203. Go to http://www.coloradok5.com for the ultimate Blazer site. All your questions will be answered. NP208 was not used in GM trucks until 1981.

Yes, that is an NP203. All automatic Blazers/Jimmys in '79 got that t-case.

FYI, '74 was the last year for the full removable top on the Blazer's.

67_SS396,
Your information is incorrect. The last year for the full top was 1975 not 1974.

Oops, I've been wrong for a long time then. I had a '74 and was told numerous times that it was the last year for it. Thanks.
