No power after valve adjusment
Ok all I just did a valve adustment on my in line 6. Umm now it's sputtering and has no power. Did I snug them down to tight???????

i'd loosen them up and start from step one in the service manual

Yep, sounds like it. There's a procedure to do them with the engine not running. I usually prefer to do them with the engine running.
What was the reason for the adjustment? Normally, once you adjust them they should stay in place unless the rocker nuts get loose. If they were making clicking noises, you probably should replace them. If you tightened them to get rid of the clicking, you probably bottomed them out --not good. |

Unless the cam and lifters were changed, they're all hydraulic from the factory.

You probably have varnish built up in the lifter. Readjust them. Back the adjustment up till the rocker has a little play in it & tighten it down 1/4 turn.

start it up and start with the first one. Loosen it till it "clacks" then tighten til the "clack" is just barely gone,then 1/4 turn.
Then next one. clack= flopping around

I love stock! Not really into the whole bagged, squished,chopped, drooped,cut, bent,lifted,twisted,split,decked,massaged,tubbed,jacked trend. Ok im going with some solid lifters in this puppy. Gonna run this 6 banger till im ready for the BIG DAWG.....
