Leaking rear diff.
Diff in my 69 c10 keeps on leaking. I resealed diff cover numerous times. Breather and hose are ok. Looks like it's an axle tube. It leaks even after a short drive about 5 miles. I can't get another diff. I got too much cash in this one. Summit conversion axles, new gears and powertrax that works sometimes. What's a repair for this? I can clean the housing very well and maybe run a bead with a mig. Will this work?

Re: Leaking rear diff.
I have seen rears that were welded all the way around the joint. but I don't know how it was done. The problem is that the tube is steel and the center is cast iron.

Re: Leaking rear diff.
you can weld it but you need to stick weld it with a nickle rod or 309 stainless rod. make sure you heat the weld area to around 250 or it can crack.
