New Seats
okay, i have had my '72 for nearly 6 years and i am tired of sitting too close to the steering wheel. i have the original bench seat and, of course, the seat back is way too thick. so...i want to get some nice comfy bucket seats with a back that is more "scooped out", if you will. any ideas on what i should look for? pics would be helpful! thanks...in advance

A lot are using the 88 and up chevy truck seats. the backs are thinner and they are the same width so they fit nice too.

I used to have a set of buckets and console in my truck from a 92 SS 454 truck. They were OK but seemed to me like they sat about 2 or 3 inches too high. I recently removed them and installed these,from a 90 something Jeep Grand Cherokee. Comfortable and sit just about the right height. Center fold down arm rest is from a 90 something Ford Taurus/Mercury Sable. Steering wheel is from Astro Van

now those jeep seats look like they would be just right for me. i would sit back a good 3 inches from where i sit now. thanks for the pics.

If your just looking for more room I just posted for info on steering column compression Its pretty simple from what ive seen. Plus its free.
