I need more flex
I have a 69 K10, I slapped on a Rough Country 4 inch spring lift and tweaked it as hard as I could.
I swear, the frame flexed more than the suspension. I need to be doing this |

Re: I need more flex
theres alot of things you can do to get more flex.
just depends on how much work you wanna put into it. you could do a 52" front spring swap,or a link/coilover front suspension, for the rear you could do a shackle flip with longer springs. |

Re: I need more flex
Get some revolver shackles that will help, or swap to a link/coilover suspension. Leafs are not the best for flex. Coils and 4 link is what you need, and RC is a very entry level lift as it is, so I wouldn't expect to much.

Re: I need more flex
4 link costs lotts of $$$ but that's the ultimate route. Next check out getting some Deaver springs, call them up and tell them what you are looking for. You can have custom springs made as well. My buddy went to a guy in Colorado and had custom leafs made for his blazer, he sits at about a 6-8" lift but gets nearly 16" travel out of them. They are amazing.

Re: I need more flex
some people who keep the leaf springs remove the main weight bearing leaf(s) to get some flex, its usually a trial and error way. but i remember a blazer getting some pretty good flex outa leafs like 12-14in believe he upgraded to 3/4 leafs so when he removed some the truck didnt sink. just a thought.

Re: I need more flex
Your shocks are probably the biggest limiting factor here.
You obviously can't leave them off, but try disconnecting the lower ends and putting your truck in the same place...see what happens. If it does give you more travel that way, longer shocks will solve the problem, just don't go too long. That will limit the compression.

Re: I need more flex
Straight spring lift only will not goive you the amount of flex you're lookin' for. Lots of extras like the revolver shackles and special shocks to keep from limiting travel. You'll need different drivelines too... with that much flex, you'll pull a driveline apart at the slip yoke.
Getting it back in on the trail is dang near impossible... Don't ask me how I know... Had to drive back home off a trail once with only front wheel drive, and the rear driveline removed... Gary
