Carpet help?
Hey yall!!
Gonna try to make putting my new carpet kit in the Burb, this weekends project. Any tips or ideas or warnings from experience you can offer would be great! Ive never installed a complete carpet thus far. Thanks everyone! Have an AWSOME THURSDAY!! junk

if you can layout the carpet flat in the sun for an hour or two b4 starting the install. that will make it nice an soft an piabble
i'd start at the back an work foward

You should.. but you don't need to hose down the entire surface... just key points.
Measure, fit and adjust.... a couple times. When it is just so.. then tack it down. Don't poke any holes or trim anything until it is tacked down in just the right spot and smoothed out good.

Did you purchase a molded carpet? If so, the companies recomend adheisive, but I personaly don't use it. I like to have the ability to lift it for whatever reason that I need to in the future, and gluing it down will make that hard to do. A molded carpet will lay down for you and stay in place without glueing it down. However if you purchased carpeting that isn't molded, then adheisive will need to be applied. WES

Years ago, when I put my molded carpet in Big Blue (1991, I think...)
I put the carpet in and just let it sit for a few days before I even thought about any glue or even putting down the door sills. the carpet DOES relax over that time and then You can put it down with glue , not too much though. I cut small "X's" in the spots that needed bolt holes.
