radiator fittment

at a local yard there's a 75 chevy van and an 83 chevy truck both with BRAND NEW 3 and 4 core radiators. the people want 30+core. will they fit? and could i have my lower spout brazed to one of these? thanks

i don't know about the van unit, but the pickup may work.
You'll have to measure the height of the core in your truck and compair it to the 85's. There was 2 sizes in the 73 - 87 trucks, one is dead on, the other too tall. If you are moving up to a 4 row rad, you'll need new brackers to hold it in.
You can then take it to a rad shop and have the lower neck put on as you mentioned. See if they can move it up an inch or so too, helps keep the hose off the frame rail.

now that I think about it, the second one may have been a van unit.
Also, the tranny cooler lines won't be in the same place.
