Kick one out, bring one in!!

Well I just finnished a bunch of work on the 69 and am just starting on the 55...
I completely rewired the 69, changed the gas tank, rebuilt the console, installed the uhpolstery, installed a shock relocator kit, installed a super panhard bar kit, installed a front sway bar, with sway bar lowering brackets, installed an internal regulated alt., installed an HEI ignition, installed all new switches, relays, & sending units, and lights. I reducted the AC, installed new windshield, and rear window with moldings, mounted the taillight bezels and tailgate moldings, installed the grill and billet insert, installed new hood hinges and springs, installed the new sterio and speakers and finaly had to cut and buff the 3 year old paint job!! Whewww. I know I have missed a few things too..lol Anyway hope you enjoy the pics.. WES

By the way, the first two are what it looked like when it came in....

The 69 looks real good Wes. I love red 55-57 Chevy pickups, that is going to be very nice also I predict.

Re: Kick one out, bring one in!!

Looks like you were able to give that 69 a breath of fresh air. As said before...to undo someone elses mess can be very challenging. Can't wait to see the progress of the 55.

Re: Kick one out, bring one in!!

Thanks guys. The billet grill came from LMC. It's a nice grill but needed modifications to make it work. The previouse work done was a real mess, and I called the truck a 50 footer. (looked good from 50 ft... ) You can step right up to it now and be happy with it. . I am looking forward to working on the 55 now. WES

Re: Kick one out, bring one in!!

Dang Wes, That 69 looks like new after all that work!
Nice 55 to start on too.
I did notice the panel truck sittin' there lookin all lonesome and neglected.
Any updates on it?
I am just getting back to working on mine, welding up the rear lower quarter panel and having a heck of a time lining it up. Whew!

Re: Kick one out, bring one in!!

Thanks again guys. The 55 is supposed to be just a daily driver when done. That is the owner's plans... But of coarse I have other ideas..... It has a 235 and saginaw 4 speed transmission. I may have him talked into a 327 that I have and he has located a muncie 4 speed. For now my job is to wire the truck, install the gauge cluster, and all lights and switches. They seem to all start that way...lol
No updates on the panel as of now. It is lonely and neglected. A victom of the economy for now. I will finish it, but the work that it needs now is rather expencive so it sits waiting for another day. WES

No.... It is actualy pretty bad. Lots of runs in the clear and it chips easy too. It also has a ton of contamination because their work environment wasn't verry clean. The bodywork is subpar also, it needed longboarding so it is kind of lumpy if you know what I mean. WES
