fuel sending unit interchage??
will a sending unit from a 87 fuel tank work in a 84 fuel tank?

yes, id get an '87 tank too tho. it has a pan in it to keep from starving the pump when the fuel is sloshing around.

It will directly interchange. The 87 tank has baffles in the bottom to keep the fuel sloshing from pissing the pump off. If you use the 84 tank and dont let it get less than 1/4 tank I have had good results that way too.
