Seat swap. Best fit?
Not sure if I want to re-upholster my '63 bench or not. Anyone know what the easiest modern swap would be? Whats required?

Re: Seat swap. Best fit?
The '88-'98 seats are supposed to fit with minimal work. Actually I think the bench seats fit the easiest. I know there is a thread or two here about seats.......

Re: Seat swap. Best fit?
Hey silly-
Here is an '88 or so that was re-covered. I cut 1 1/2" (+/-) out of the frame and it is SOOOO much more comfortable and supportive than the '65 springy bench. If you are taller, there is an extra benefit of dropping you a little lower- not too much though. The springy seats also did this but they did it by squishing down, the newer seat is stiffer and more comfortable on drives.

I have a seat from a 1991 Silverado , fits easily ! It has the fold-down armrest for the driver .

Re: Seat swap. Best fit?
Is your original seat in decent shape? For my 64, I bought a Mexican blanket on eBay, I think it was about 20 bucks, took the seat to the upholstery shop and he charged 50 bucks to install it. One blanket is just the right amount of cloth.
I just think it's a real challenge to change seats in any vehicle. They're all just a little too high, too low, too close to the steering wheel, tilted the wrong way, or something.

I used a 93 chevy truck bench. You just need to drill two holes to bolt it in.
