HELP! another axle code question
trying to find out what ths means:
KYA G266 1 this is on the top of the axle tube on my new rear-end. was tryna figure out what gear it is so i can change the plastic gears n my tranny to make the speedo correct again. im sure its 2.73 or 3.08 because it came from another swb 83 scottsdale with a 305/350 combo.trans is long gone from the donor truck to just steal those tranny gears from. Can anyone help?

Re: HELP! another axle code question
Best advice I can give you is to pop the diff cover it is printed/engraved into the ring gear, a easier but less accurate way to tell is to lift the truck and count the wheel rotations to one drive shaft rotation, it would probably be best to pop the diff off read the number write it down and fill er up with fresh fluid and a new gasket

Re: HELP! another axle code question
yeah i guess ill have to do that because tried the turning the wheel thing and didnt seem right. totated the wheel one full rotation and driveshaft only turned like 1-1/4 turns so tells me nothing.
