another vancouver island guy!!!!!
Hi All,
I'm in Victoria BC and just bought a 55 GMC step side on Sunday which is in fairly good, (mostly rust free) original condition.....short of no eng/ trans. The overall plan I have is to keep as much as possible original and lay in a modern power plant. The good thing is I already have a 350 with a th400 to drop in so I plan on a short build before I tear it down again. I already did a 4 wheel disc brake conversion on it and had some long nights just looking at it trying to figure out which direction I want to go with it... too many possibilities to consider in the 5 days I've owned it! I've been scouting the board for a while now and I'm glad to see that there is some very experienced people giving out good advice. I've been working on cars/ trucks for over 25yrs but since this is the oldest truck I've ever owned I'm sure I'll need some tech advice at some point. Once again Hi to everyone 55metalmonkey

Yep thats the one,
just started to fit the engine & trans in on Sat. No Pics yet but will see about posting some soon, all I have are a few on my cell phone and they never turn out well when sent to a computer. |
