Anyone with EFI, ECM mounting?

Question for those with electronic fuel injection in 47-55 trucks. Where did you mount the ECM?

I adapted a GM TBI system to the 54 235 inline 6 in my 52 and currently have the ECM mounted up high on the passenger side kick panel but don't like how its visible, its an eye sore. Planning to relocate it under the dash up high on the firewall so its out of sight.

Was just wondering where others have mounted the computer in their trucks.

Thanks!

Re: Anyone with EFI, ECM mounting?

I mounted mine on a 1/4 sheet of baltic birch plywood, approx 5x12 and fastened it to the firewall using a piano hinge....just have a #10 sheet metal screw into the bottom of the dash. Painted the ply black on the underside and edges, used some 4" velcro to attach the ecm to the ply. Swings up behind the speaker grille and pretty difficult to see unless your crawling around on the floor

I made a bracket and mounted it on the inner fender. In the picture you can see the bracket on the top of the ECM to the master cylinder to brace it for vibration.

Mine's currently zip tied to the bottom of the cowl vent...for now. It'll get mounted up there permanently once I know where the vintage air will go.

I fianlly found someone who swapped an LT1 into their AD! I am doing a 55 1st series onto an 85 S10 2wd with 4x4 rear axle, donor LT1/ 4L60E from a 1994 Caprice 9C1.

Any pointers?
