Dash fitment question

will a dash pad from an 82 3/4 ton with a/c fit in an 82 1/4 ton with a/c?

doesn't gmc call an 82 2wd swb a c15 instead of a c10

also, what is this dye i keep hearing about? any one had any luck changing a red pad black. my cab already smells like spray paint from all the plastic trim i changed. where can i find some/best brand? or even better any one have a black dash pad for an 82 gmc swb w a/c?
