How much is too much (Front spring drop)
I just got my drop springs in, 2"/4", but the drop ended up being 3 1/2" at all 4 corners before they settled in. I like the way it sits now, but I was wondering if there are any issues with dropping the front that far with just springs? I know on some other IFS vehicles I have worked on, anything more than a 2" deviation from stock ride height makes them un-alignable. Anything similar with these? I haven't got it aligned yet since I am waiting on new tie rod ends.

Hi there, I was wondering if you have any pics of your truck with a 2-4 drop. I ask because i have a 70 gmc that i am switching to disc brakes. And i thought i might as well lower it while im at it. And 2-4 is about what im looking for. I would like to go a lil lower but im trying to stay away from buying drop spindles and adjustable panhard bars and all that stuff.

As long as you have room between the bumper stops and you don't bottom out when you hit a bump, you should be okay. At a minimum, I'd get a front end alignment..it's good insurance and it'll save you from buying front tires.

I'll get it aligned as soon as I get the tie rod ends on. the old ones have a lot of play, but the parts store didn't have them in stock. That's this weekend's project, along with a new rear axle. I don't think I could bottom it out, those springs are firm.
Jackyll, I got the kit from GMCPauls with the adjustable track bar.

I bought 2" drop springs for mine and mine also went down 3". I had to put in longer upper control arm bolts to be able to align it. They are kind of a pain to but in also. But you will probably need to do it.
