Another BONDO Question

Ok, I sprayed paint over the places where I put bondo so I can see how much more I need after block sanding it down. I block sanded over the paint and now all that is left of the paint are the low spots where I need more bondo..my question is. Is it ok if I go ahead and put bondo over the paint in the low spots and then block sand it down to make even? Thanks.

Your best bet is to sand it all back down to filler, ensuring that you roughen up all the filler that is showing too.

Depends on how low it is. If its just a few a few mils you'd probably be better off just priming the surface up with a hi solids primer and then block sanding it level. If its more than a few mils theres some decent low density polyester fillers that smooth on about the consistency of yoghurt . Its a lot easier to fill shallow low areas with that stuff than with heavier bondo. Same surface prep rules apply though.

Buy an inline pneumatic sander if you dont have one. It'll knock weeks off your bodywork.
