Dropmember / spindles
I wasn't going to use a dropmember for the front but decided to right after I bought my 71-72 spindles. I notice everyone using 73+ spindles... Just seeing if I need to sell mine and get 73's??
And I will be running porterbuilt control arms also. Last edited by gixxerpymp; 09-09-2010 at 11:45 PM. |

Re: Dropmember / spindles
Just let Nate know which spindles you have.
71-72= 2.5" drop 73-87= 3" drop. Your spindles will be fine.

Not knowing something isn't dumb, it's uninformed. Not knowing something and not finding the answer is dumb.

Re: Dropmember / spindles
You can run the 71-72 spindles no problem. Thats what I have. Nate will probably ask you which ones you have.

Re: Dropmember / spindles
I am already using the 73-87 spindles but they are 2.5"drop and want to put on some 3" drop spindles. i can get some right now but they are for a 71-72.....will they work? or will I still have to change the upper and lower ball joints?
Thanks, Mike |

Upper is different. (71-72 or 73-87) Belltech sells 3" 73-87 spindles.

Just change the upper to use the 71-72 drop spindles. Or buy Belltech 73-87 3" drop spindles. I'm not sure the .500" difference,... is worth the money to swap spindles.

Re: Dropmember / spindles
I just purchased the belltech 3" drop spindles for the 73-87 ball joints. A very nice piece of hardware. There is a pic of them in my build thread but it may not be the greatest, I can get a better one though.

Re: Dropmember / spindles
Belltech is what I have the option on right now from my buddy. just waiting for him to tell me how much he wants for them. If not I may just buy some that are for the 73-87

Re: Dropmember / spindles
As far as I know, Belltech does NOT make a 3" drop spindle for any application other than 73-87. If they truly are BellTechs, then I am pretty sure you will have zero ball joint concerns.
