Power Steering issues

I have a '90 R1500 Suburban and my steering gear box is nearly done for. It has already cracked the frame which I had welded up. Is there a better gear box available? Where could one be found cheaper than the 140 everybody seems to be charging? Has anybody ever used the weld in repair for the frame section? Who offers them?

I think you'll find the box is OK, it's the cracked frame causing the problem.

OK, I just re-read your post, what is the box doing?

Around the steering shaft or Pitman arm? I thought there was a seal kit available for those boxes.
