ultimate tow, show and pull truck build

hello my name is Aaron and i thought I would share my panel truck build with everyone. I want a truck that I can pull My Jeep to the trail with, cruise the rod runs in and maybe even pull in the local tractor pulls. The plans start with 68 chevy panel truck ,make a 4x4 tube chassis with one ton axles and 37 inch tires, and run a duramax and allison combo.so far Ive tore it all apart and started sand blasting. Got some tubbing bent and mocked up the engine and trans. I will post a few pics monday (i cant find camera)

Nice... I was wondering how long it was going to be before someone installed D-max backed by an Alli. Keep the progress going

Re: ultimate tow, show and pull truck build

got some tube and finished the rear of the frame rails and made the main hoop for the roll cage. today I started on the front spring and shackle mounts. im pretty sure the ride height and stance will be real close to what i was after. I cant decide if I should put a full cage in the rear or just make it in the cab section. Any ideas? I will put some pics saturday its to dark and they dont take good.

Re: ultimate tow, show and pull truck build

heres some pics these are not the wheels and tires that are going on here and the front axle is just a 1/2 ton i used to see where its should set. still need to mount the rear springs and i can put it on the lift and finish some cross members and drive shaft hoops and stuff like that.
