Self adjusting Rear Brakes?
I have a 63' truck, in 64' they added self adjusting rear brakes. Is this something I can just add to my 63' rear end, or are more changes nessessary? thanks

Re: Self adjusting Rear Brakes?
I added them to the rear brakes of my 1960 as well. Just look at a manual for correct assembly, or that information might be included in the kit. I seem to remember you also needed the brake shoes from the self adjusting application - like one shoe was longer or shorter, or had an extra hole or something. It's been about 10 years so I don't remember for sure.

Re: Self adjusting Rear Brakes?
Don't worry about the hole for the self adjuster. Replacement shoes have had it for a very long time. If the shoes on your 63 have ever been replaced they will very likely have the hole.

Re: Self adjusting Rear Brakes?
I've got them on the front and rear of my '61. I haven't added discs up front yet, but need to.
It does have a dual reservoir conversion though. -Brad

I wasn't aware they were also available for the fronts.
