Wondering what this wire goes to 73-80 wiring loom

I am going to swap over front clips from my 84' to the older 74' front end this Friday. And before diving into this project I figured i'd do the once over of all the parts I have and while looking at my wiring loom for the headlights. I noticed there is a lager gague green wire that is cut off mabey 2 feet from where it goes into the block that plugs into the firewall.. Could anyone tell me what this goes to?

Also on a unrelated note was there any years 73-80 that had a under hood light that would come on when the hood was opened. My hood has a cut out for what looks like where a light would go.

I believe that is the horn wire and I think I have only seen two squares with that hood light and they were loaded trucks. The light had a mercury switch or something of that nature built in.

Green is the right color for the horn. Jay

Re: Wondering what this wire goes to 73-80 wiring loom

this is the only style of underhood light i've seen in a squarebody...

In between the A/C box and trans dipstick is a reel out underhood light in a 1990 Sub.

Not sure how it works though, i think it either comes on with the domelight or there's a switch by it.

I will be adapting a reel out light with mercury switch from a 1992 Olds convertible.

Thanks i'll try to go out and get a picture of the hole in the hood for where I think a light should go.
