Bed side replacement....

How tough a job is this? Can it be done with hand tools? Does the bed need to be removed to do it? Welding involved?

Basically I am a dumbass, my passenger side mirror sucks, and a 20 inch tall fence/guard rail was on the right side of my truck and I didn't know it. I ended up back along/into it and the 8x8 posts that were sunken into the ground. I am not sure if replacement of the quarter panel is needed, or if I can hammer it out and have some "finish work" and new paint done by a buddy.
