Who makes a quality kit for Qudrajets?

Not sure if I should post here for this but I didn't think it fell under "Engine and Drive Train" category.
I've heard there's lot of "junk" carburetor kits out there so Thought I'd ask some of you guys if you know of a quality carburetor kit manufacturer for a Rochester Quad.
Thanks!

When I worked autoparts we carried GP Sorensen or something like that. Its what the shops around town would use.

I've had excellent luck with Sean Murphy Induction. Years ago Sean was the head build guy at Brad Urban's "Carb Shop" in SoCal ... then he started his own business in Orange County (California). I have had him completely rebuild three Quadrajets (2 x 1971 Cheyenne, 1 x 1970 Chevelle) for me and they look brand new and run great. I've always opted for the Stage II rebuild that generates improved power and better idle characteristics. He sets up each carb based on your vehicle weight, gear ratio, tire size, engine size/power and intended use. Overall, I am very happy with the results.

Here is a link to the Stage II setup that I have ...

Re: Who makes a quality kit for Qudrajets?

Q-Jets usually need more than just an overhaul; they almost all need new throttle shaft bushings and other TLC. It's worth going to a quality rebuilder to get it done; note that the rebuilt exchange Q-Jets from the parts stores are *junk*.

Here's a list of the good guys:

Anyone heard of Cliff Ruggles? Cool guy!
I just bought a complete quadrajet restoration kit from him.
He also gave me some great advice on block decking and piston/wall clearances.

Cliff is the Q-jet guru! And best of all, he's a Pontiac guy.

His book should be required reading for anyone building a Q-jet.

Re: Who makes a quality kit for Qudrajets?

I will add to the Cliff testimony here! I had a good rebuildable Q-jet that needed new throttle bushings. I sent him just the base and he rebuilt it pretty fast and reasonably priced, and gave a lot of advice on the rest of the carb. You can't beat that. He also sells rebuild kits. I have never tried his, but I have good lock with the GP Sorenson kits that NAPA sells.
