Filler Ideas for Blazer Tank?

With the steel blazer tank I got from CPP installed, there is no room between the filler neck and the bottom of the bed floor. There is only about 2" between the frame and bed floor and the filler sticks up about that same amount. I was hoping to attach a filler cap just under the floor and use a billet gas door mounted flush on the top side, but not sure that's possible now without a lot of tedious cutting and welding.

I'd like to see some ideas on how others tackled it. Btw, mine is a stepper.

What about using one of those stainless screw-on boat ones and stick it right on the bed floor?

i dunno...

Re: Filler Ideas for Blazer Tank?

I thought of that, but with the bed on, there isn't any room to access the fuel neck at the tank to tighten the hose clamps. There's gotta be a way, I've seen plenty of pics with the fuel filler in the bed floor...I just can't figure out how to do it with such a small amount of space to work with.

Re: Filler Ideas for Blazer Tank?

Thank you sir. On another note, where can I find fuel filler hose? I've been to AutoZone, Pep Boys, Napa, and O'Reilly's and none of them carry it, at least locally.

Re: Filler Ideas for Blazer Tank?

My 1.25"id fuel/exhaust hose came from a specialty hose store. You could also try building up the filler neck with jbweld and use more availible 1.5" hose.
