Re: Window rubber DIY
Lots, lots of patience. Do a search for a thread someone just posted some ideas in the last month with pics. Do NOT remove the PIVOT RIVET is my only advise. Everyone I've heard of that removed it was sorry they did.

Re: Window rubber DIY
Thanks for the link, Actually I need that info as well. Should've been a little clearer. My bad.
I'm starting the side window channal, vent wing rubber replacement etc. Basically rebuilding the doors. That's the info that's needed now. Still searching posts. Any help would be great.

Re: Window rubber DIY
Here's a couple of threads for you:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...t=vent+windows http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=351471 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=153937 I just finished rebuilding a set for my '67, and it really wasn't that bad. I removed the pivot rivet and didn't have any problems getting the new one set. After reading the many threads, the things that I found to help me most are as follows: 1) When removing the vent assembly, remove the rear window track mounting screws. This will allow you to slide the window back, which will make getting the vent assembly out very easy. 2) Get someone that is willing to help you for the process of rebuilding the windows. 3) You must start with the front corner of the vent rubber first. Using dish soap for lube, get the angle portion of the rubber started in the track and sliding it forward seemed to be the easiest way to get the rubber started. Then you can simply use dawn and a flat screwdriver to work the rest into the track. I think if I rebuild them again, I will try to use pop rivets for everything except the pivot rivet. The biggest thing though is to take your time, do one at a time so you have a reference, don't start into it until you have plenty of time, and walk away for a few minutes if you get frustrated. I hope this helps!

Re: Window rubber DIY
Did you use pop rivets or the LMC rivet kit? I have both, just want to see which is better
