37 GMC Find
I acquired a 37 GMC last week. This was a true barn find. My friend found this truck earlier in the summer. He decided to forgo the project so I expressed the need to have this truck, so I was able to get the GMC. Someone started this project back in the late 60's. The grill and hood is perfict. I will know more when I get it in by brothers barn. I will start the 37 GMC project when I finish the 52 AD.

very nice. Do you have the doors too?
What are you plans for this one?

Re: 37 GMC Find
No, no doors. I know of a complete 37 GMC that is in a private boneyard. The doors are salvageable and I think the truck can be purchased for $400. The same guy has several complete Chevy truck. As for the plans for this truck. I want to build a fender-less short box, GMC grill, no hood or hood sides, no chop rat. Small block with a 3x2 intake, Lakewood headers, old skool rat rod.

Re: 37 GMC Find
Love it.
I've got a 45 cab & doors that I bought with title to do the same thing to. Probably start on it either this winter or next spring. I've got an old Dodge pilot house bed to chop up for it.

Re: 37 GMC Find
That's a great start. It must have been more recently set outside. There's no way that sat out for 40+ years in red oxide and only flashed that much.Looks like a decent job on the firewall fab.

Re: 37 GMC Find
It has only been out in the elements since early summer. The truck had been setting in a barn for years and years. From my observations, someone did a very good job on the aluminum firewall.

In this project you need to add so much thing. The project is good but i think it little bite time consuming also.

Re: 37 GMC Find
I've started with less. In the past, I had projects that started in boxes.

Re: 37 GMC Find
Can you do me a big favor? I need to get a pic of the where the side of the exterior cab meets the inner door frame. We are doing some trading of metal work on a 37' cab for a guy that runs a junkyard for parts. He gave us a early 37' cab to work on with the wood pillars and he gave us the metal frame from a late 37' cab to weld in, in place of the wood. One thing I am stuck on is how it meets up with the outer cab skin. Thanks Trevor
