73 Tailgate
Greeting, It appears my google-fu has failed me.
I am just about ready to pull the bed off of my truck for sandblasting and wanted to confirm how one takes the early tailgates off. Do I unbolt the hinge from the box or is there some magical trick I missed? Definitely preferred the quick off style on my '79. Cheers!

Re: 73 Tailgate
ah, i just ran into this myself. you have to take them both from the box and drop it thar way, i also had no rear bumper in the way. im taking the raised gmc off my old gate and welding it to my newer gate just to keep the original appearance somewhat giving away my truck is a 73 even tho my truck has had a frontend swap
