Hedman # 68316 Headers
I have an oppotunity to score some new Hedman # 68316 headers for a 78-87 G body car for $ 80. Do you think these will clear the clutch bellcrank without major modification? Trying to get some input before I call the guy back and load up my spare block and head to test fit them before I buy them..........

Re: Hedman # 68316 Headers
I have a feeling they will fit. I took some measurements on my spare block and threw a head on there for some measurements. Talked with the guy on the phone and he told me that they were 14 3/4" from the point where they mount onto the heads, to the top of the collector. From the center of the bolt to mount the header to the bellcrank block side pivot ball is 4 1/2"...................no problems. No bad for some $ 350+ headers

Re: Hedman # 68316 Headers
I found a pair for $110 the other day and I thought to myself "that seems like a good deal, but if they're that cheap, they can't be worth a damn". Maybe I should have bought them!

Re: Hedman # 68316 Headers
Got the motor dropped in over the weekend and test fitted the headers. Looks like they hit the A arm just by a hair. I will take some pics for you guys. Any recommendations? A little grinding of the A arm and a small massage on the tubes?? Other than that, they look better than I excpected. Even clears my bell crank!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Hedman # 68316 Headers
Still have not put them on but I will try and take some pics of how they look. It's the bend of the tub that is hitting the top of the lower control arm. I am going to grind about 1/8" off each side and see what we are working with.................
