What have you done with interior after tank removal?
Title pretty much sums it up...after moving the gas tank from the cab, what has everyone done to "finish" the job? All I have seen is carpet kits to cover a tank, but nothing to cover the back wall of the cab with no tank in place.

Sorry, couldn't help it. But yes, pics would be faaantastic! For what it's worth, I'm talking more about just basic upholstery work, not stereo equipment. All my audio will be under the seat, not behind it, so I'm curious what people have done to make it look "presentable."

Heres what I did...put something in front of it
 . I cant remember, but someone else took some plywood and carpeted it and attached it to the back. Looked very clean.

On their website they tell you to make a note or tell your salesperson if you have removed the gas tank so that they can cut the carpet longer. I haven't spoken to them yet, but it seems like that's the way to go...

Sorry, no pics. I cut a sheet of 1/4" masonite the width of the back wall of the cab and cut the height so it would be a tight fit. Covered it in black carpet to match the rest, then glued it to the back wall of the cab. Then cut two pieces for the corners, covered them in black carpet and mounted 6 x 9 speakers in them.

I was looking at http://www.roddoors.com/pages/rearcabcovers.html but they dont have any pics? I was looking for something that wrapped around and the pics they show of the 60-66 looks like it does.

I had the interior shop make a panel to go back there. The ones on the sides have 6x9 speakers in them. He just covered it with leather. I like the way it turned out. It finished the interior off.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

Taking the tank out of one of these trucks will not give you any more leg room. The seat back hits the upper part of the cab where the window is. The only reason for removing the tank is smell of gas in the cab and for me I didn't like the fuel pump in the tank behind my seat.
The body panel above the speakers will not let a seat go back any farther. If you could come up with a way of removing it and then you could get more leg room.
