Anyone help me value this clean 71?
I have fallen into a really clean 71 Suburban. Original owner, 124k miles. The only rust I see is the right front rocker needs replaced, and some surface rust in front and behind the rear tires. Not all the way through, just on the surface. The motor was built about 1k ago and runs great, the carb is a little gummy so it doesnt want to snap off the line, but when it clears out and goes it runs strong, was told by the owner the motor has hi-comp pistons, it definitely runs that way. I think if the carb was rebuilt the suburban could be driven home, I have put about 50 miles on it transporting it. The interior is complete and original, the front seat has a cover due to a hole, but the rear looks like it has barely been sat in. The door panels are almost perfect. The AC goes all the way down the middle of the roof, the ac compressor was pulled when the motor was done but is in the back boxed up. Original wheels are also sitting in the back. There are 2 or 3 dings in the thing but I am amazed at how clean it is. We have had 72 pickups and never started with one so clean. I would love to keep it, but simply cant right now which is too bad because I think it will be hard to replace. My family did some work, never were paid and ended up with this, we are out close to 5k.

I don't think anything more than 5K - but I really have no idea up to 5k (2? 3? 4?). Looks like it's got a lot going for it - a great base for someone to fully restore it. If you can get it running right that may not add a lot to the price - but will make it a lot easier to sell.

I was thinking of pulling the carb and throwing a kit in it, I am positive it is varnished and gummed up. Dwell seems off and the float seems to stick. I was thinking around 3.5-4k for it?

Thats a very nice suburban! If you can get it in good mechanical condition I don't see why you couldn't sell it for around $4K.

Nice Burb. I think it would be worth at least $4000 if it is as solid as it looks in the pics. Good luck.
