Re: Speedometer Swap?
I haven't seen any aftermarket speedos that you program with a computer. The ones I looked at had either a row of dipswitches that you set according to a table or a calibration button that you use in conjunction with driving over a measured distance.

Re: Speedometer Swap?
i was thinking more like swapping in a speedometer from a newer truck like a 2010 tahoe has a programmable speedo all you have to do is plug in basically a code reader and imput your tire size and lift and it recalibrate's the speedo

Re: Speedometer Swap?
Does a speedo like you are describing run directly off the signal from the VSS without any intervening processing?

Re: Speedometer Swap?
If you buy an aftermarket electronic speedometer, it should come with a sending unit that screws into the stock cable hole. Then you drive a preset distance and push a button and you're good.
I'm setting one up in my nova right now.

Re: Speedometer Swap?
You can go with a electronic speedo and replace your cable with a pulse generator . The all you have to do is set your revs per mile for your tire size ...Thats what I am doing with 41's .
Autometer has a nice selection of speedometers . |
