Re: Who has converted their c10 from Longbox to Shortbox?
You can either cut your existing frame or find you a short frame and swap it out. I took the easy route and found a short frame for $200. That's the easy part. The hard part is finding a short bed! I built mine from new parts but retained the tailgate. Definitely the most expensive way to build a bed. You can probably find a decent bed on craigslist for around $700. I've seen rough ones go for $400. Either way it's gonna be a long search.

Yep, I totally forgot about that. If you don't have the skills yourself it will probably be cheaper to find a short bed.

Most cut the frame and find a short box to put on it.

Re: Who has converted their c10 from Longbox to Shortbox?
Thanks guys, i was considering converting it to a shortbox because im fixing my truck up for racing but i dont see many longbox trucks that race? Is there a big factor between a shortbed vs a longbed?

I've seen a lot of fast longbeds! Personally I wouldn't bother shortening it if you only want to race it. Save your time and money and put it towards a stout big block

I back-halved a C/20 Stepside into a pro-street shortbed.Everything was custom fabricated and I narrowed the Dana60 using Mark Williams parts.Longbeds launch great and would run straighter,I'd think.
