Re: My 70 GMC finally getting done
That does look pretty similar. I will be sure to post more pictures as it gets closer to being done' I can't wait to paint it, and get it back together.
I did pick put the colors. This was one of the cab corners.

I like it! Progress is progress! Do you have any idea what color blue that is? I think the blue/ white combo is really sharp.

Re: My 70 GMC finally getting done
The colors I chose are
Blue - Laser blue effect 227M white - Arctic bright white 9753 I'm thinking of putting some silver pearl in the white though.. havn't decided yet. Anyway we got a little further ahead on the truck painted behind the cab, and put the bed on the truck. I hope these pictures don't come out so big.

Re: My 70 GMC finally getting done
The fitment looks excellent on your doors, nice job. Looks as if you've got the tuff stuff behind you now.
As far as pearl white, go for it. I just checked out my gmc at the paint shop last night and I had chosen a pearl white for the roof and mid body stripe. It was a risky, "wild" decision on my part. When I first checked out the work I forgot it was even pearl but at certain angles it's very cool. Gives more of a custom look IMHO.

Re: My 70 GMC finally getting done
Oh, thanks for that info. I was am a little hesitant, but I know the blue has pearl in it, so I think it will make a good match.

Re: My 70 GMC finally getting done
I was originally going to go with the same color scheme, but ended up going a little different.

Re: My 70 GMC finally getting done
Well I got it painted. Here are a few more photos. Thanks for the advice on the pearl. We ended up putting pearl in a clear coat on top of the white. It looks great. Unfortunately you can't really see it in these pictures.
Now i need to find a good color for the pinstripe. Anyone got any good ideas. Oh yea, I do have a question for you all. I replaced the bed on this truck with one that had the dual tanks. I took the old tank out of it. Anyway, I know don't know if, or how, I can get the fuel gage to work with this truck. I havn't inspected it fully, but I don't see a wire connection on top of these tanks. Did they come with them from the factory, or is there some way of doing that. I don't really want to have to wing it all the time.

Re: My 70 GMC finally getting done
truck's coming along nicely
As for the pinstripe you could match whatever color your doing the interior in to help tie the interior and exterior together or possably silver or white. on the tank all you have to do is extend the sender leads for the OE tank to the sending unit on the "new" tank just my 2 cents - Robert

Re: My 70 GMC finally getting done
Thanks guys. I am still not sure if i like where i placed the blue and white, but it's different and its starting to grow on me.
I am having a hard time finding the sending units on my new tanks. I am starting to wonder if they have any.

Re: My 70 GMC finally getting done
Ok ran into a snag, I was hoping someone on here could help me out. I'm trying to reinstall my side windows, and vent window. My father took the doors apart for me, so I didn't see how it came apart. Is there a particular order i should be doing this in, or is there some secret to putting these things in. I eventually got so frustrated last night I had to walk away, before i just started forcing things into place.
