thinkin about buyin this k-5... opinions? PICS
Hey yall im going to look at this k-5 tomorow, please tell me what problems to look for, and what you think of the blazer. What might it be worth?
It has a few small problems, it needs- exhaust hooked up (cheap), Power steering pump (i have one) and steering column(cheap) 1984 k-5 350/700r4. motor has been swapped in, originally a 305. I can tell its had a repaint, it was originally tan. He said the mild all terrain tires are fairly new, just dirty. seats look good... ugly... but not worn the column is busted because of attempted theft, thats also why the door panels are off, they punched the locks. i can get a column for 75 bucks, no biggie. So, whats it worth? Main reason Im interested is the amount of room this would have over my single cab, and a quick repaint/ refresh would go a whole lot quicker than the frame off resto my SWB needs. what do yall think?

If its as clean underneath as it is up top I would guess in the 1,400 to 2,000 range, but obviously get it as cheap as possible because it needs work, is 26 years old, and most like has some issues that arent present yet.

Is it running?Exhaust not hooked up.Was the motor just put in and never ran?If you can fire it up and drive around and all seems good I'd say about $1,000-$1,500.I bought an '85 Jimmy in that is all original and running for $2,000 this summer for comparison...98,000 miles.
He's looking for opinions on buying it,not parting out someone else's truck .Besides,do you need a Blazer tailgate band or a pickup?

well i think I did good, i picked up the blazer for a mere 700 dollars. it needs some tidying up and it has some rust. nothing near as bad as some of the blazers ive seen. i need to replace the door locks and rear tailgate lock. any info on that? ive never messed with a blazer, but this is my 5th 73-87! thanks

Definitely looks like a good buy for $700. Keep us updated with your progress.

the blazer tailgate band fits over truck tail gates and covers up the handle
