Upper Control Arm seals
Can someone please answer some questions for me about rebuilding my upper control arm shafts. I disassembled, painted and am ready for reassembly. I ordered upper control arm shaft seals from LMC Truck.... went to re-install and the seal seem to big. They don't seal against the shaft at all. about a 1/8 to big in diameter. I could just go buy new shafts, but there was nothing wrong with mine... other than the seals were in rough shape.
Ideas? anyone else had any problem like this with LMC seals? Thanks |

Re: Upper Control Arm seals
I'm pretty sure that the Upper Seals that LMC sells is for the 3/4 ton shafts. I read on here that the 3/4 ton upper shafts are bigger than the 1/2 ton but the lower shafts were the same. I was going to order the same seals from LMC but figured they wouldn't work. I haven't been able to find anyplace that sells just the seals so i'm going with new shafts. Summit Racing has them for $20.00 each.

Re: Upper Control Arm seals
I ordered them for my 60 C10 and they fit fine. However, after looking at the LMC catalog, I see that they really are 3/4 ton seals.
