Does anybody know of a good source for the electric window motors for these trucks? Mine are mighty slow.

your local autozone should have one. i also have a spare motor. $15 + shipping and it's yours if you are interested. you may want to check your switches. they may need replacing.

If it is a switch problem wouldn't it be working intermittently rather than slowly?

kpmunt,
Before you start buying parts, remove the door panel and lightly oil or grease the moving parts. These old designs have a full channel the window holding brace must travel on in order to move. Today's desings only have two pivet points on a brace holding the door glass. I had the same problem. Windows would just roll up slow. I lubed the moving parts and the problem went away. They however returned to moving slow when I put new window wipers on the doors. The motors just don't work very good like new powerwindows on trucks today. ------------------ Gerardo 1983 Custom Truck TX Plates: "BAD BOW" http://www.geocities.com/abetterchemist/ |
