drop options with front drum brake 68 gmc
Hey forum, So I did a 5 inch rear DJM flip kit today on my 68 gmc 1500 sb. I measured before and after and its more like 7 1/2 inches of body drop which is great. My questions regarding the front. How low can I go do to the front drum brakes? I have never had a truck with front drums so I dont know exactly what I need for the front for now to lower it. I plan on going with disc in the future and drop spindels. Any ideas would help!!!!!

If you stick with static drop and drums your stuck with about 3" lowering spring as far as Im aware...maybe you can cut a spring pocket out of change crossmember but easy drop , 3"

Ok so static drop means a coil spring drop? Yeah 3 inches is still kind of high. 20" wheels I plan on using so I am thinking around 5". Can anyone confirm what oldblue1968 has told me. Thanks for the quick reply 1968chevy.

Static drop-No bags, pretty much spindles/springs I think.
3" lowering springs, anything past that without spindles you will have alignment trouble ive heard. You *might* be able to cut a hole in your LCA and make a spot for the spring to rest lower in the arm and run a 3" spring NOT SURE PM VA72C10 (I think thats his name), He did this to his truck and running coils still
