white stripe in the middle or bottom, what years for color white stripe combinations?

I was wondering if a 1969 - 1970 chevy or GMC was available from the factory with the white - color - white- color (stripe in the middle) like the 1971 -1972 models. All the 1969 - 1970 models I have seen had been, white - color -color -white (stripe on bottom) . I would like to see all the orignal combinations if ya want to help. thanks.

I am nearly positive that 69-70 did not have the white/color/white/color paint jobs.

Dont think 81" GMC's had that option...but this one is getting it I love that look.

I'm not absolutely positive either,but I believe this is correct.It's funny,lately I've seen this scheme referred to as a "stripe" several times.I never thought of it that way.GM referred to this scheme as the deluxe two-tone.

not sure either, but I do know my '70 is white-hugger-white, even list it as such on the SPID.

i never thought of it as stripe either but when I was looking for info in this subject it seemed refered to as a stripe. I think LONGHORNMAN explained that it was confirmed a member had the middle stripe on a 1969 - 1970. I could be wrong.

I'll look into this.there was standard 2-tone which was just a white top.Then,Conventional 2-tone which was the lower white and top.And,Deluxe 2-tone which was color lower,white center,color upper,and white top.A few exceptions to white for accent as a standard option.Deluxe may have been offered in 69/70 but it sure is rare to see.It makes sense that it would be offered since the upper molding is there.

longhornjeff has an early 69 longhorn CST/Custom Camper big block truck, it is green with the white accent on the roof, and between the upper and lower trim on the sides. (stripes were painted, on the upper portions of the side, they are also called pinstripes). His early model 69 does have some odd things about it, like no cargo light or headliner (CST models 69 - 72 had these items included in the package) and the oddest thing is the 16.5 inch rims are painted the same green as the body, with no signs of being repainted. On top of that,t he truck was used to haul a camper and almost nothing else. No mods were done to the truck except for camper specific stuff.

I don't think the no headliner / cargo light is odd, my '69 CST (which has a dec '68 build date, was a custom order when the new models came out) does not have them either - Everything I have seen looks like the ones built in '68 retained the '68 features in some respects - I also have a cartidge filter instead of a spin on!

I have always thought that this style two tone was not available untill 1971, but I found this truck that I bought today. It is Black and Gold. Here is a bad pic of the truck and a pic of the spid. It is a 70 cst. Never seen this combo before. I will get better pictures tomorrow. Has anybody else ever seen this combo. It only has special paint on the spid.
