With Carb for a 4x4
Which carb should i get for a 350,4speed granny 410 rears cam is going to be in the idle to 4500 range for low end torque..4x4I like Holley's but don't know which one to choose. There just so many I like to stay in the 650 cfm with Mechanical Secondaries if possible and keep it low cost.I Had a 3310 on a dodge 360 in a '76 power wagon,But the 3310 is a Manual Choke and 750cfm'sI guess that would work but i kinda want to get away for the manual choke....

With,witch,wich...3 strikes. You're OUT!! Hey,just funnin'. I couldn't resist after seeing you miss the target three times in three different ways. It's "which",buddy.
To answer your question,a Quadrajet would do ya right.if you don't have one or you want a square bore,I'd go with a 670 Street Avenger. If you off road to the extreme, try a Truck Avenger.

Re: With Carb for a 4x4
i have the factory Q-jet.I rebuilt it but it dont seem right.Plus it still leaking around the new gaskets. So i guess it could be warp.I might look for another one.And use it I am plaining on using a Ebrock performer manifold.I thought of the avenger's but there pricey.

Q-jet all the way.
Folley's don't perform so well with off road abuse in my opinion, what with zero gravity of being air born. Or being bounced up and down, or going up very steep trails or down them for that matter. Other than Q-jet, I'd go injection.

My K20 is similar to your truck -- virtually stock 350, 4.10 gears, auto trans shifts at 4500 RPM matted.

Re: With Carb for a 4x4
I don't off road much in my 4x4 but when I pull my dock and lift out of the lake in the fall I hit a pretty good angle. My Edelbrock doesn't like to stay running in that position. I don't know about the q-jet or holley. Before the 4bbl Edelbrock I had a 2bbl stock GM carb. It didn't quit or bog down doing the same move.
Now that I know what to expect I can keep it running but it won't on its own.

Re: With Carb for a 4x4
My '79 had a edelbrock on it and it also didnt stay running any good angle.I have old Holley 6210-3 (4165)Q-jet my buddy gave me afew years ago that i forgot i had.It was given to him about 20+ yrs ago.It probly needs rebuilt again.I am unsure where the vacuum lines and the brake booster go on it.Would that work ok on that set up?
