Patriot Performance
Well I am down to the final week of research before purchasing a new engine. I was going with the 350 330hp engine from John Barrett until I read he has been known to take folks cash and never produce an engine. With that said I am thinking about going trough Jegs and getting the Patriot Performance 350 350hp. Has a decent price (3700 turn key) and comes with roller rockers. Says it's built on a new GM block. I figured by going through Jegs if something is wrong I stand a better chance of getting my cash back. Has anyone ever seen, used, or have a patriot performance engine? Or does anyone have any favorite crate engine outlets I may not know about?

Re: Patriot Performance
How about this? 400 hp chevy 350 with 12 month warranty for $3000. Have been thinking about it myself.

Re: Patriot Performance
Check Scoggins Dickey (sdparts.com) or Pace (paceperformance.com)
I have bought from sdparts.com when I got my 260 hp basic crate motor that I was going to put in an old 56 Chevy. Price was as good as I could find anywhere, and not having to pay NC sales tax more than paid for the shipping on the deal. Also heard good things about Pace, but no personal experience. |

Re: Patriot Performance
Personally I would go with an engine that has more torque than horsepower.
But it all depends on what you intend to use your vehicle for as well. Just a thought.

Re: Patriot Performance
Agreed. I asked everyone in my HotRod circle and they all recommended I call SD. I bought mine from Scoggins Dickey and they were fantastic to deal with. Sure, had to pay shipping, but overall excellent to deal with and I got the right engine for me. I got the 350/290 HP long block, part number 12499529. Great engine!!

Re: Patriot Performance
Does it have to be a small block? If not here is the one I am looking into for my blazer when the time comes.

Re: Patriot Performance
IMHO local GM dealerships havent fiqured out the fact that they have competition with the internet. for an engine shipped to my door for under 2500 they wanted a cpl hundred more. wouldnt ya think it should be a few hundred less sorry im not paying for the glass palace & troubles ?
