Angry Don't you hate it when...

When I drive the dented, rusted, old paint job having dirty truck I get this:
Name: IMG_3237.jpg
Views: 728
Size: 47.6 KB

But when I drive one of my other cars, I have to suck in my gut just to open the door, and have to pull the car out of the parking space before I can open the wife's door!

I take that as the owners of those dime a dozen modern vehicles are showing respect for the venerable elder. That's how it's supposed to be.

Re: Don't you hate it when...

My Dad always vents over the phone to me about the same thing! When he drives his old GMC there's never a problem, but every time he takes out his black Corvette and parks it way out in the back 40 where no one else has parked. He always comes out to see some ding bat that parked up against his car.

He always leaves a note that says "Parking pig"...

Re: Don't you hate it when...

Because they know to respect the chevy. They just know whos number 1. My father use to drive his 71 cheyenne for a DD when he had it and there was this guy with a new truck and he took up two parking spots so my father parked on the drivers side of the guys truck and left about 2inches of room for the guy to get in when my father started walking in the guy came out and saw that he couldnt get into the drives side and lost it my father still laughs about how the guys was cussing left and right when my father was walking pass him but the guy didnt know it was his truck. Gotta love old trucks.

Re: Don't you hate it when...

every time i would paint any car i owned it would seem to get dinged within 6 months, i finally learned if i really wanted to keep em nice , i would have to walk. I park as far away as possible most times and takeup 2 spots if its a lot with plenty of room. i know some people hate double space parkers and i did too until i learned what kind of work and money goes into a good paint job

I understand your frustration for sure, I never double park though. I have seen some serious key scratches on double parked rides. I just park srategically where I'm less likely to get dented like the end of a row where I can get all the way over on one side. And of course I am willing to walk a mile if necessary to avoid a-hole parkers.

Re: Don't you hate it when...

Try parking this somewhere. I can park near the back of the lot where NOBODY else will bother parking, come back out and have 3 or 4 cars parked next to it.

I usually won't leave it parked anywhere I can't see it anyway. I WILL NOT leave it unattended at a WalMart lot at all!

Re: Don't you hate it when...

Whenever I come out to my truck from the store and someone is getting out of their vehicle next to mine, I yell at them to watch the paint! It throws them off every time when they look at my primer and rust truck. It's all I can do not to die laughing every time. My Vette that I've put so much work into, I try not to draw attention to it by parking way off in the distance, and have never diagonal parked it. Granted it rarely gets parked in a lot, so after 5 years, not one single door ding, or parking lot incident.
