Re: vent window gasket replacement questions
Use pop rivets, makes life a LOT easier. I have done 2 sets. Do not remove the "pivot" rivet that the window swings on. Instead, remove the bracket that holds the pivot rivet, and use 2 pop rivets to secure it back after replacing the rubber triangle piece.

Re: vent window gasket replacement questions
I did mine about a month ago and its really not all that bad. You just gotta jump in there and do it. Take some photos or write things down how they go as your disassemble your old ones. Drill out the old rivets, put the new ones in- mayby not quite that easy but its not super hard to do. The second door goes twice as fast since you know what your doing...

Re: vent window gasket replacement questions
Thanks guys. I had started out with the search button but nothing came up. Then used google and it led me back here and one of our members had written a how to on it and shared the secret I was looking for on how to use the rivet setting tool. I actually did the passenger side today before I asked the question and was just baffled on how to use this tool with only two hands. But seeing how he did it will make a ton easier. flat punch in vise and rivet tool in hand. I will try this tommorow on drivers side vent when I find another one at the pull a part. I was looking at mine and noticed the track is bent so I am not going to spend the time messing with a bent up frame. Thanks again everybody. And all the paint is supposed to be finished tomorrow and will be putting it all back together on Friday. Wish me luck.

Re: vent window gasket replacement questions
Well, I know when I did mine, even with my dad's help, I knew we had to stick out our tongues just the right way, we argued, we said some swear words, argued some more, tried sticking tongues out a different way, argued, walked away and cooled down, came back to it, held tongue out different than before, wrestled with it, held in frustration at dad cuz "I" wasn't doing it right, finally held tongue just right, and finished.
Ok.....proof read...........yup that about sums it up.
