Bench seat console?
I'm trying to come up with a plan for a floor console that will sit on the trans tunnel in front of the benh seat and be removable but for the life of me I can't picture what it needs to look like. Does any one have any pictures or suggestions that would help me out it's going to be 8" talk and 13 long and 10-12" wide with two cup holders towards the rear of it.
How should I construct a storage compartment? How should I cut out and then retain the cup holders? Anything would be helpful guys thanks. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Bench seat console?
Maybe you could so something like my Ford Ranger has. It has a floor "storage place". It doesn't run all the way up to the seat. Mine doesn't have a cup holder, but I have attached a picture of one that does.
http://73-87.com/7387garage/interior/console.htm That link is to a fantastic article on building a custom console in a square body. Obviously he is using bucket seats, but it could get you started. For a cup holder, The only idea that comes to mind is cut a hole, and use a drop-in cup holder similar to the one used in motorhome dinette tables. |
