Want to switch to barn doors

can you switch from the tailgate to the barn doors on a 83 burb?

From what i have read you might have to "graft" the rear part of a barn door burban onto your truck for it to work correctly. I may be wrong tho.

thanks i will need to take a good look at the barn door setup....mine is lifted and i just became disabled and the barn doors would better for me

I have asked the same question over and over again. I even went out and purchased door hoping I would get good feedback but I ve be told it's not as easy as it looks. If you do figure it out please post it.

Not on an '83, I think 1978 and earlier they interchange, but not any of the later ones. Don't quote me on '78, that's a guess from memory. They use to have the mounts for both types of doors but they quit for some reason. They should have left the option available like they use to. A guy here in Canby did the swap, I don't recall his name though.

Ok, maybe it's 1980 and earlier...
