Question A/C r12 to r134 question

Hey Guys
I am converting my original air truck to the new refrigerant. I have the new o-rings and valves, are the original lines and muffler compatable with r134?

Re: A/C r12 to r134 question

probably not, the r12 system uses mineral oil and r134 uses pag the two dont jive together. you should replace the old rubber hoses, they will be soaked with mineral oil. and then you must flush all the components, i.e evaporator, condenser, and metal lines. You should replace the accumulator (dryer) and expansion valve

Why not just stick with r-12.(pricy yes) There are people selling it all over ebay. r134 does not cool near as well as r-12, you'll hate it.
