Custom Cab Trim instrument panel question.

My 68 is a Custom and has the bright trimmed windshield and back window,
along with the full length side moulding. The instrument panel is edged in satan silver, shouldn't that be chrome ???

Re: Custom Cab Trim instrument panel question.

I have seen maybe 2 chrome 68 bezels. Actually the only ones i saw were a factory choke delete bezel. Most were silver until 69. I am sure aftermarket you could get what you want.

Re: Custom Cab Trim instrument panel question.

Now that this question has been settled, has anyone repainted a panel edge
in satin silver ?

Re: Custom Cab Trim instrument panel question.

I had a 70 CST with the 3 hole panel, was original, and was silver, not chrome

Even some of the nos bezels made later were silver instead of chrome. I have seen a few nos ones in wood grain with silver.
I am unsure why the choke delete bezels in 67-68 would have chrome. The matching glove box door would still be silver edged.
On a side note, the 2 bezels in chrome i have seen, (still have one) do NOT say choke on them. The round deletes must have been from a dealer and had a tab that covered the word choke.

Re: Custom Cab Trim instrument panel question.

My '68 CST with a 396 and GM choke delete had an original chrome gauge bezel with a factory Tach.

Jim,
That would be the third one i have verified. Do you remember if it had the "choke" on the bezel? Thanks.

Re: Custom Cab Trim instrument panel question.

Never removed the Bezel or the delete. I have a couple of the deletes just to remind me of the truck.
